Tony Knight

Tony was born and raised in Johannesburg South Africa, where he obtained his dental degree. Tony and his wife, Ariën, immigrated to Calgary in 1979 and have two adult children. Tony is ‘Alive inside’ with a passion for community service: "The Atrium” is his dream coming true.


Steve Rickard
Vice Chair

After selling his real estate appraisal business of 30 years in 2012, Steve has been focusing his energies on Rotary related projects. He married Marie in 1975 (also a Rotarian) and enjoys living in Calgary where their three adult children live – they have five grandchildren. Aging in Place is a holistic approach to seniors care supported by Bethany at Riverview Village and The Atrium is a compelling addition.

Evelyn Buckley
Honorary Consultant

Evelyn Buckley was born and lived all her life in Alberta. She has served her church, her community and the world. She is especially excited about being part of this joint project for this group of vulnerable seniors.


Christi Lange

Originally from Santa Barbara, California, Christi recently moved to Calgary with her Canadian husband, Steve, in order to pursue a professional career in fundraising while being closer to their aging parents. Christi has a passion for improving the quality of life for seniors and vulnerable populations and is delighted to be part of such an exciting and vital project as The Atrium.

Luanne Whitmarsh
Manager of Operations

Luanne originates from northern Manitoba, but has been in Calgary since 1988. She is a Registered Social Worker and currently works at the Kerby Centre as the Chief Executive Officer. Luanne’s goal in life is to help people live their lives to their fullest. The Atrium is in synergy with her life passion.

Harry Taylor

Harry is the owner and founder of the successful accounting firm, Prospera Chartered Accountants which was established in 1992. Upon moving to Calgary he worked for KPMG as supervisor in the small business department. Following that, Harry was a Controller of an oil field service company. Harry has always been committed to volunteering in the community. He has been treasurer and chairman of the Calgary Urban Project Society and treasurer of Street Teams, both agencies working with street people in Calgary. Currently, he is an active member of the Rotary Club of Calgary Centennial and the Ranchmen’s Club.

Jennifer McCue
Bethany Care Team

President & Chief Executive Officer at Bethany Care Society, Jennifer is registered nurse, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Health Services Administration. Prior to joining Bethany, Jennifer held several administrative and leadership roles throughout her healthcare career. She has provided operational leadership for several multimillion dollar health care projects and worked with Health Canada during the Kananaskis G8 Summit, providing leadership for the planning and provision of health care to the G8 leaders and their families attending the Summit. Jennifer is an avid golfer, and runner; recently completing her first half marathon and also enjoys travelling.

There are several members at large who have played a pivotal role in the strategy, development and implementation of The Atrium.


The Atrium will encourage authentic inclusion that connects the lives of community members of all ages and abilities, with the lives of Bethany residents, fulfilling the vision of a caring community.
