Service Above Self
I’m a keen member of the Rotary Club of Calgary Downtown and, since last June, am also a member of the Board of Directors of Bethany Care Society: so, the Atrium: A Rotary-Bethany partnership is close to my heart.
I volunteer with Bethany because the treatment of seniors is a huge issue for all of society, and especially for baby boomers like myself who dementia disproportionately effects. What I’ve found since joining the Bethany Board of Directors is that the organization is wonderfully focused on developing caring communities for seniors where they are treated with respect and dignity, whatever their degree of need. I’m proud to be a board member of this important organization.
I attended the launch of the Atrium fundraising campaign at the Bethany Riverview campus and was thrilled to see the level of commitment and enthusiasm from the sold-out crowd of Rotarians from several different clubs across the district.
I’m proud to be a Rotarian because we truly live our motto “Service Above Self” – and I have full confidence that we’ll make the excellent Atrium vision a reality.
