A Rotary-Bethany Partnership

The Concept

Rotary's goal is to serve the community, provide supportive environments inclusive to all generations, and enrich the future by supporting local demand and opportunities. With a gap in Calgary's senior and dementia care facilities, Rotary has taken the opportunity to embrace the aging population.
A leader in Calgary's senior care sector, Bethany has over seventy years of experience and established dementia care expertise. With a need for developing dementia care in Calgary, Bethany has partnered with Rotary to create The Atrium.

The Atrium, a year-round indoor green space, will provide an area for Bethany residents, family, staff, volunteers, community visitors and Rotarians to gather and engage with each other. The Atrium will be one of the main features at Bethany Riverview, located in the heart of Calgary’s newest dementia care facility.

About Riverview

Bethany Riverview will become home to 210 seniors and be a vital part of an integrated campus of care situated on 12 acres in the SE quadrant of Calgary.  This area of the city is currently underdeveloped in terms of seniors’ long term and dementia care options. Bethany Riverview will be a comprehensive dementia care residence serving the city and surrounding region. The project is on time and on budget with a target completion date of September, 2018.

Rotary’s vision and partnership as a catalyst for this project will set the stage for Bethany’s ongoing innovation as a leader in seniors’ health – helping to meet the needs of seniors, families, communities, health care providers and governments.
